According to a recent study, Egypt ranks fairly high in cultural heritage but struggles with environmental issues, which could affect long-term residency decisions.
 
I visited Egypt last year, and I think the culture shock is real. It's a beautiful place, but adjusting to the local norms can take time. Not sure how that impacts long-term residency though.
Culture shock? Isn't that part of the adventure though?
 
I think the opportunity to immerse yourself in a culture so rich and ancient like Egypt's outweighs many of the negatives.
 
But you can't ignore the political instability and social issues. These factors make me hesitant about moving there permanently.
 
Safety should be a top priority. Some of the recent political events in Egypt are concerning.
